What is a Rotary Club?
Founded in 1905, Rotary International is the association of Rotary clubs throughout the world. A Rotary Club is an organization of business and professional leaders united
worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
The name “Rotary” was selected because the Club met in each member’s place of business on a rotating basis. From the beginning, the Rotary ideas of friendship, fellowship and service to others have spread to six continents. Currently there are worldwide over 1,220,000 Rotarians in 32,000 Rotary Clubs located in over 166 Countries. Bill Gates is a major supporter. If you go to GOOGLE you will see his impressive involvement with the Rotary Foundation.
